America’s Creative Crossroads

Portraits from the Intersection of Artistry and Technology

The Kansas City region has a legacy of artistic and entrepreneurial innovation spanning more than 125 years. Today, the KC metro has one of America’s most inventive and creative cultures. A new collaborative campaign, titled America’s Creative Crossroads, highlights the Kansas City area as an intersection of artistry and technology. It is designed to elevate the KC region in the minds of potential residents, visitors, talented professionals and businesses.

For this exhibition, KCADC partnered with Kansas City photographer Cameron Gee, and digital storyteller Matt Blume, to showcase some of the personalities and stories behind KC’s creativity, arts and innovation. Through digital storytelling, social media, national publicity and compelling imagery, America’s Creative Crossroads is making the KC metro a lifestyle and business destination. This campaign was created with many area partners including the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association, Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City and the Arts Council of Johnson County. kccreativecrossroads.com

About Matt Blume:

Matt Blume is interested in how place defines an artist and how an artist can define a place. With a storyteller’s curiosity, Blume finds subjects that are consistently pragmatic, honest and humble, and knows that when approaching each subject with a camera, the style has to reflect the individual’s personality. Blume’s team works in an authentic way from unique viewpoints to draw a visual parallel between our city’s natural beauty and our innovation, music, invention and art. T2.tv
