Manney’s innovative fashion designs are functional and wearable.  Her new work was inspired by the industrial spirit that has shaped our urban landscape.  For four days Manney will work in the gallery to create a giant wall weaving installation. On September 4th, 8th, 9th and 10th visitors are encouraged to stop by to watch her progress and visit with the artist. The show runs through Friday, October 30th.

Manney will give an artist talk on September 25th at noon in the gallery.  An opening reception event and fashion show will be held on Friday, September 11th at 7:00pm .  All events are free and open to the public.  The Box Gallery is open to the public Monday-Friday 8:00am- 8:00pm.  Free parking validation is available.

About Whitney Manney

Kansas City native Whitney Manney graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2012.  Her collections have been showcased in ten local/regional shows including a solo exhibit at UMKC Gallery of Art, Kansas City Fashion Week, Saint Louis Fashion Week and Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University.  As a 2013 ArtsKC Inspiration Grant recipient Manney participated in teaching partnerships with the HALO Foundation and various area schools.
